Learning outcome 5,6

Learning outcome 5 talk the ability to use MLA citations. In my last essay I had to cite my work, its’t hard once you know how to use it. In English 110 we used the Little Seagull book, that was very helpful. It shows you how to cite a video, image, article, and book all in MLA citation. At first I had trouble citing , but when my professor suggested to use the Little Seagull, I benefited a lot. Although the only thing that I suggarled with is finding the infromation in the article, but now I’m much flexible with it. A citation is very important if you’re using someone else’s work, you have to give them cited for it. If you don’t cite their work than its considered plagiarism, and you don’t want that.

I never had to annotate so much until I took English 110. For me annotation is time consummating because I give it all of my best. When I’m reading I really think of it deeply, and I write down my understanding of the paragraphs. The thing that is going to be helpful is to underline important sentence, or once you like, and also try to analyze each paragraph you read. That way when you come back to it, you don’t have to re-read the whole article again. Analyzing also helps with understanding the text better, because once you understand it than it’s going to be easier to include it in your essay. My skills have definitely improve over the semester with reading strategies.
